Job summary

Boston Spa Academy is seeking a highly organised Science Technician to support the delivery of the science curriculum. The postholder will prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, manage resources, and support staff and students during practical lessons.

You will keep stock records, ensure safety in laboratories, and work closely with the Curriculum Leader of Science in a busy department. The school offers a teacher/local government pension, professional development, and access to an Employee

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 4/C or above in Science or equivalent qualification.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with laboratory apparatus and chemicals.
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and organise laboratory equipment and materials.
• Support staff and students during practical activities.
• Maintain stock and inventory records.
• Ensure laboratories operate safely and effectively.
• Work proactively to manage competing priorities.
