Job summary

The Talent People Pte. Ltd. is sourcing a Science Lab Technician to be deployed at a Primary School. This contract role supports science programmes and day-to-day operations of its laboratories, enabling engaging and hands-on learning experiences for students.

The position involves maintaining two laboratories, handling materials and equipment, and ensuring safety standards, with typical hours Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm. Singapore-based role, eligible applicants apply.

Qualifications

• NITEC, GCE O-Level, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant laboratory technician experience.
• Comfortable handling laboratory materials, chemicals and live specimens under supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support inquiry-based and hands-on science learning activities across.primary school levels.
• Manage and maintain two science laboratories, including the school garden and science learning corners.
• Assist teachers in preparing apparatus, materials, and equipment for science lessons, practical activities and assessments.
• Source and procure laboratory equipment, materials, and consumables, while maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Ensure laboratory safety procedures and standards are adhered to at all times.
• Support logistics, setup and supervision during science workshops, enrichment programmes and classes and school events.
• Assist with the maintenance and organisation of laboratory resources and facilities.
• Provide administrative support and other duties as assigned by the school.

About the Role

The Talent People Pte. Ltd. is sourcing a Science Lab Technician to be deployed at a Primary School. This role supports the school's science programmes and ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of its science laboratories, enabling engaging and hands-on learning experiences for students.

This is a contract position. The school may, at its discretion, extend the engagement for a further year up to 28 June 2028.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 4:30pm (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
• No work required on Saturdays, Sundays, or gazetted public holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Support inquiry-based and hands-on science learning activities across primary school levels
• Manage and maintain two science laboratories, including the school garden and science learning corners
• Assist teachers in preparing apparatus, materials, and equipment for science lessons, practical activities and assessments
• Source and procure laboratory equipment, materials, and consumables, while maintaining accurate inventory records
• Ensure laboratory safety procedures and standards are adhered to at all times
• Support logistics, setup and supervision during science workshops, enrichment programmes and classes and school events
• Assist with the maintenance and organisation of laboratory resources and facilities
• Provide administrative support and other duties as assigned by the school

Requirements

• NITEC, GCE O-Level, Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a laboratory technician
• Comfortable handling laboratory materials, chemicals, and live specimens (including insects) in a supervised setting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be legally authorised to work in Singapore at the point of application

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting science programmes in an MOE school environment
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and first aid practices
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage inventory, procurement, and laboratory resources independently
