Job summary

ROBERT MAY'S SCHOOL in Hampshire seeks a part-time Science Technician to assist the Science department with lesson preparations and the setup of demonstrations. You will support teachers by preparing substances, equipment and resources for lessons and help maintain well-stocked preparation rooms.

Prior laboratory experience and a keen interest in science are desirable, with a focus on excellent planning, organisation and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Prior lab experience desirable, keen interest in science and willingness to learn.
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• the operation and maintenance of our well-stocked and equipped preparation rooms
• timely and effective preparation and delivery of substances, equipment and resources for Science lessons
• controlling stock and liaising with the Senior Technician regarding orders
• providing support during lessons
• excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• a high standard of literacy and numeracy
• the ability to work under pressure
• the ability to work on own initiative
