ACT Schools in Cardiff is seeking a passionate Schools Enrichment Teacher to join the team on a 37-hour temporary basis. You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to small groups of pupils aged 11–16, many with additional needs.

ACT Schools, Cardiff 37 hours Temp £34,000 rising to£40,000 16/10/26

We are looking for a passionate and creative Schools Enrichment Teacher to join ACT Schools in Cardiff.

You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to small groups of pupils aged 11–16. Our pupils may have experienced exclusion or be at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, experience school-related anxiety or be considered vulnerable.

This role is about much more than delivering lessons. You will build positive relationships with pupils, support their wellbeing and personal development, and create engaging learning experiences that help them develop confidence, skills and a sense of achievement.

You will have the opportunity to use experiential, outdoor and nature-based learning, as well as creative approaches inside and outside the classroom. You will adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, manage behaviour using positive and trauma-informed approaches, and provide an inclusive environment where every pupil has the opportunity to progress.

What you’ll do:

Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive teaching, learning and assessment.

Teach small groups of pupils aged 11–16 with a range of learning needs and barriers to education.

Develop creative, experiential, outdoor and nature-based learning opportunities.

Build positive relationships with pupils and support their wellbeing, engagement and personal development.

Use appropriate behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies, including trauma‑informed approaches.

Assess and monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.

Develop accessible schemes of work and lesson plans that support skills development and progression.

Use digital learning platforms, including Google Classroom, to support learning.

Work closely with the Headteacher, ALNCo and wider team to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

Contribute to quality assurance, safeguarding and continuous improvement.

Support enrichment activities, projects and relevant off‑site visits.
