Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Technician 2 to provide technical support for teaching staff and maintain departmental resources. The role reports to the School Principal through the line manager and will supervise up to five staff, ensuring safe and efficient operation of educational facilities.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs (A*-C) or Level 2 equivalent qualifications.
• At least one year’s experience in staff management.
• Knowledge of Technician 2 requirements, health and safety regulations, and general administrative processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise appropriate staff (shared supervision) and allocate duties.
• Provide on-the-job training to staff.
• Develop, maintain and operate admin systems and inventories.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, storing and distributing resources.
• Prepare resources for classes, set up and demonstrate materials.
• Ensure safe storage and disposal of materials and conduct safety checks.
