Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust in Kent is seeking a School Nurse to support children and young people aged 5-19 across our communities. Working with Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs), you will deliver preventative and early intervention services, help families thrive and promote healthy lifestyles.

You will manage a caseload, deliver health promotion sessions, assess health needs and identify concerns early, contributing to reducing health inequalities.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs.

Working alongside Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs), you'll deliver a wide range of preventative and early intervention services that support children, young people and their families to thrive.

No two days are the same. You'll manage your own caseload, deliver health promotion sessions, assess health needs, identify concerns early and support children with both complex and additional needs. You'll play a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles, emotional wellbeing, resilience, self-care and health literacy, while helping to reduce health inequalities and risk-taking behaviours.
