Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Registered Nurse to join our inpatient ward teams in community hospitals across Kent. The role includes a 24‑hour internal rotation and occasional travel to other Community Hospital sites to meet service needs.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs.

Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to make a real difference? Join our friendly inpatient ward team and play a vital role in delivering high quality, person‑centred care to a defined group of patients.

Working closely with the Matron, Clinical Sisters and multidisciplinary team, you will provide holistic care and support patients through rehabilitation, recovery and end of life care. You'll have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, maintain excellent clinical standards and, with support, gain the confidence to take charge of the ward and hospital in the absence of senior staff.

Our community hospitals care for adults aged 18+, supporting patients transferred from acute settings or admitted directly from home to continue their rehabilitation, assessment and recovery closer to their communities.

You’ll be part of a welcoming team that includes registered nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists, rehabilitation assistants, pharmacists, care management staff and visiting medical officers, all working together to achieve the best outcomes.

This role includes a 24-hour internal rotation pattern and occasional travel to other Community Hospital sites to support service needs.

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026. Following integration and to align our community services to the new Neighbourhood Model of care delivery, there will be a period of consultation which may result in changes affecting some services, teams or roles.
