Job summary

GSL Education in Worksop is seeking a Sports Coach / Learning Support to assist pupils across Primary or Secondary settings. You will work with teachers to deliver activities, manage routines and support positive behaviour in lessons.

A background in sport or coaching helps, bringing resilience and teamwork to the classroom, while safeguarding knowledge is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Background in sport, coaching, fitness or related area welcomed but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Ability to work confidently alongside teachers and other school staff.
• Genuine interest in supporting pupils with their learning and development.
• Education, classroom support or SEN experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to pupils across Primary or Secondary settings.
• Support teachers with learning activities and day-to-day classroom routines.
• Help maintain positive behaviour and encourage pupils to remain engaged.
• Provide cover supervision and ensure pupils remain focused during lessons.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils who may require additional encouragement or SEN support.
• Use skills gained through sport or coaching to promote structure, resilience and teamwork.
