Job summary

Tor View School in England is seeking a combined site supervisor and driver to join its site team with an immediate start. You will open and secure the premises each morning, supervise cleaning staff, carry out minor repairs and upkeep, and drive minibuses and other vehicles used to transport pupils and staff.

The role requires a D1 licence for minibus duties, a safety‑conscious approach, and the ability to work as part of a small team responsible for safety, security and day‑to‑day operations

Qualifications

• D1 driving licence required for minibus duties.
• Experience in facilities or site supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open the site each morning and ensure premises are safe and ready for pupils, staff and visitors.
• Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Carry out minor repairs and general building maintenance with the site team.
• Maintain heating, lighting and security systems.
• Keep outdoor areas, including pathways, waste disposal, playgrounds and car parks, in good order.
• Manage stock levels and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Act as key holder and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure health and safety rules are followed, including COSHH requirements.
• Drive minibuses and other vehicles to transport pupils and staff safely.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Assist passengers, including securing wheelchairs and safe entry and exit from vehicles.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents and mechanical issues under school procedures.

The post covers opening and securing the premises each morning, supervising cleaning staff, minor repairs and grounds upkeep, alongside driving minibuses and vehicles that carry pupils and staff. Hours are 7am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 2:30pm on Fridays. A D1 licence is needed for the minibus work and visa sponsorship is not available.
