Role Details
Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm, 8:00am-4:00pm or 10:00am-6:00pm. The required shift will be confirmed.
Contract: Temporary sickness cover.
Start Date: To be confirmed - likely after half-term.
End Date: To be confirmed.
The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation, security, maintenance and presentation of the school premises, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Open and unlock the school premises as required.
Close and secure the school at the end of the day, ensuring the premises are secure overnight.
Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and practical DIY tasks.
Ensure the school site is safe, clean and well-maintained.
Complete health and safety checks, reporting hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
Liaise with contractors and support works taking place on site.
Set up rooms, halls and equipment for school activities and events.
Assist with grounds maintenance, litter picking and adverse weather duties.
Move furniture, equipment and deliveries safely.
Undertake other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in caretaking, site management or maintenance, preferably within a school.
Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
An understanding of health and safety requirements.
The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and use initiative.
A flexible, reliable and hardworking approach.
Good communication skills and a professional manner.
