Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join our Site Team at the school, ensuring the premises stay clean, safe and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

You will handle opening and closing, minor repairs, site security and health and safety procedures, set up rooms for events, and adapt to the school's needs with flexible hours and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH and Building Control.
• Basic maintenance and DIY skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school buildings on a rotational basis (6:30am opening, 6:00pm closing).
• Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Assisting with site security and health & safety procedures.
• Setting up rooms and spaces for school events and activities.
• Working flexibly to accommodate the needs of the school.
