Job summary

Copperfield Academy is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the management, maintenance and safety of our school site. The role ensures a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children and staff.

You will oversee contractors, supervise premises staff, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. The position requires hands-on leadership in a busy school setting and a proactive approach to facilities management.

Qualifications

• Experience in site management within a school or similar setting.
• Strong maintenance skills and hands-on ability with tools/equipment.
• Knowledge of health & safety regs (CoSHH, Legionella, asbestos) and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management, maintenance, security and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
• Supervise premises staff and contractors; obtain quotes and monitor work.
• Carry out repairs, regular safety checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, water hygiene, PAT testing).
• Ensure safe access during adverse weather and maintain site security as a keyholder.
• Manage energy usage, utilities readings, and support event room setups and deliveries.
