Job summary

Equans seeks a Caretaker to manage school site operations across Knowsley, including security, reception and contractor coordination. The role includes maintaining a safe, clean environment and acting as a key link between Equans and the school.

You will work 37.5 hours per week with early 06:00-14:00 and late 13:00-21:00 shifts, occasional weekends, Enhanced DBS required, PPE provided, and driving between multiple Knowsley sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general site management including building maintenance, porterage, security, and reception.
• Maintain a customer service oriented approach when interacting with staff and visitors.
• Ensure security of the building and manage the site visitor book.
• Liaise with external contractors, issue access permits and monitor works.
• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance, including fire alarm testing and L8 checks.
• Keep COSHH compliant for chemical handling and store materials safely.
• Carry out meter readings monthly and complete planned and minor repairs.
• Cover shifts 0600–1400 and 1300–2100, with occasional weekend work and driving between Knowsley sites.
