Job summary

North Star 240° is seeking a practical Site Assistant to join our Estates Team on a permanent contract. You’ll be the go-to person keeping our school safe, welcoming and running smoothly for pupils and staff, handling repairs and daily site needs.

The role covers maintenance, security, grounds and supervising contractors, with early morning hours Monday to Friday. No teaching background required; suitability around children and enhanced DBS check apply.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrics, gardening or cleaning.
• Energetic, motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
• Approachable, friendly, and able to build good working relationships with staff and wider trust team.
• Strong health and safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check to work around children.

Responsibilities

• General DIY & Maintenance: handle everyday repairs and basic carpentry, plumbing or electrics.
• Security & Keyholding: lock up, set alarms and ensure site security.
