Prospere Learning Trust's Camberwell Park Specialist School is hiring a reliable Caretaker to join our site team. The role covers security, maintenance, and general upkeep of premises and grounds, with responsibilities as a key holder and support during events.

The post is full-time (35 hours per week, all year round) with a salary of £26,427 to £26,847. Evening or weekend duties may be required; full driving licence is highly desirable and training for first aid is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaker or similar role handling maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene regulations; COSHH desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff, pupils, contractors and visitors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability for manual handling and caretaking tasks.
• Good ICT, literacy and numeracy with accurate record keeping.
• Full driving licence is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• General repairs and site maintenance inside and outside.
• Daily health and safety monitoring, including fire safety checks.
• Security of the school site, acting as a key holder and CCTV monitoring where applicable.
• Liaison with contractors and monitoring compliance with site regulations.
• Supervision of cleaning staff and external contractors.
• Grounds maintenance including litter picking and gritting in poor weather.
• Setting up for school events like exams and parents' evenings.
• Maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies.
• Supporting lettings and events outside normal hours.
• Acting as a first aider (training provided if needed).
