Job summary

Derby Moor Spencer Academy is seeking a Science Technician to support science lessons and laboratory activities at Moorway Lane, Derby. The role is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) with 39 weeks per year, and the salary range is NJC3–NJC7.

You will assist with practical science work, ensure equipment and materials are prepared, and help supervise students under the guidance of science teachers. Immediate start available for a suitable candidate.

Qualifications

• Has a minimum of A-level Science or equivalent qualifications.
• Has the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Has good organisational and planning skills including prioritising tasks.
• Is able to work as part of a team and be flexible to the needs and priorities of the school.
• Is proficient with IT.
• Will be part of the cover / buddy rota for First Aid provision (training will be provided) in the absence of the Primary First Aider.
