Job summary

Kingsdown School is seeking a Science Technician to join our science faculty. Working in a calm, technical space, you will support teachers by preparing chemicals, apparatus and experiments to enable safe, engaging practical lessons.

We value organisation and attention to detail. Requires GCSEs incl. Science and relevant lab experience, plus knowledge of health and safety and COSHH. This is a permanent, full-time role with term-time pattern and 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in at least three subjects, including Science.
• At least one year of relevant laboratory or technical experience; or two years in a school technician role with training.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety policies, COSHH regulations and safe chemical management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, smooth delivery of chemicals, apparatus and experiments for practical lessons.
• Support teaching staff by preparing resources and coordinating multiple preparation requests.
• Maintain a calm, organised and methodical work space in the science department.
