Job summary

A high-performing secondary school in Hammersmith & Fulham is looking for a Science Technician to join its department on a permanent basis from October. You’ll be responsible for preparing practical work across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, keeping laboratories well organised and ensuring equipment and materials are ready for lessons.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory setting.
• Good knowledge of practical science and laboratory equipment.
• Understanding of COSHH and safe chemical handling.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage a busy workload.
• Reliable, practical and confident working in a school environment.
• Experience supporting GCSE or A-Level practicals would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up practical experiments and demonstrations.
• Organise equipment, chemicals and materials for lessons.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and stock levels.
• Support teachers during practical sessions.
