Job summary

Frewen College is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support the Science Department in delivering practical lessons safely and efficiently. The role involves preparing materials, maintaining laboratories, and assisting staff and pupils.

Working term-time with a 37.5-hour week, the post requires good knowledge of health and safety, COSHH records, and the ability to support students, including those with dyslexia, to access practical science.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Support teaching staff during practical lessons where required.
• Ensure laboratories are organised, clean, and ready for use at all times.
• Assist with demonstrations and practical activities under Teacher direction.
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and replenishing chemicals, equipment, and consumables.
