Job summary

Trinity Catholic College in Tees Valley seeks a dedicated safeguarding postholder to safeguard pupils and staff, coordinating responses with statutory agencies to ensure timely support. You will receive referrals, work with external partners, and contribute to a proactive safeguarding culture within the school.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 in learning support or equivalent, with DCSF induction and experience with children in an education setting.

• DCSF induction programme completed.
• Experience with children in school/early years environment.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard young people and staff and maintain vigilance in safeguarding practices.

Job description

The postholder will safeguard and protect the young people and staff within school and ensure there is a culture of vigilance in safeguarding practice, receive safeguarding referrals and coordinate a procedure which addresses and prioritises the needs of those affected by liaising with statutory agencies.

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 in learning support / early years or equivalent qualification / experience
• Have completed the DCSF induction programme
• Have experience working with children in a school/early years environment
• Have an understanding and effective implementation of Child Protection procedures, local safeguarding partnerships, and safeguarding practice reviews
• Have the ability to make a proactive contribution to the work of school staff and external agencies in supporting children, their families and carers, A strong, supportive ethos
