Job summary

VennGroup is seeking School Site Staff in Croydon to oversee day-to-day safety, maintenance, and security of the school premises, ensuring facilities operate to high standards.

Contract is 3 months with potential permanent, pay £19.33–£25.78 per hour via umbrella, with shifts 06:00-14:00, 09:00-17:00, or 10:00-18:00; start ASAP; responsibilities include opening/closing, safety checks, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Experience with building maintenance and planned preventative maintenance scheduling.
• Experience in reactive repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation including COSHH and risk assessments.
• Strong recordkeeping and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the site's planned preventative maintenance schedule.
• Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for compliance, utilities, inspections, and maintenance.
• Carry out daytoday site operations, including opening/closing, security, building checks, and alarm response.
• Conduct regular H&S inspections, risk assessments, fire safety testing, and evacuation drill support.
• Liaise with contractors, ensuring safe working practices, permits, compliance and quality delivery.
• Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and basic redecoration where required.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, driveways, and external equipment.
• Ensure all statutory testing (PAT, legionella checks, equipment inspections) is completed and recorded.
