Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council seeks a part-time Caretaker for Ysgol Heulfan, Gwersyllt. Working 22.5 hours per week (7am–11:30am), you will maintain school premises and support safe, clean and welcoming facilities. The role includes basic maintenance tasks, health and safety duties and occasional minibus driving.

An Enhanced DBS is required. The council welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and supports bilingual working in English and Welsh.

Qualifications

• Experience of premises maintenance and basic facilities management.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Reliable and trustworthy with a commitment to safeguarding pupils and staff.
• Enhanced DBS is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the school premises (internal and external), including cleaning, lighting, heating and decoration.
• Carry out routine and non-routine Health and Safety and security procedures; act as a keyholder for opening/closing the premises.
• Drive the school minibus for servicing, maintenance appointments and authorised journeys.
• Work under the Headteacher's direction and communicate effectively with staff and pupils.
