Job summary

Amey is seeking a Premises Manager for Barnsley Schools Account at Penistone Grammar School, Huddersfield Road, Penistone, Sheffield S36 7BX. The role is on site, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:00pm, offering a competitive hourly rate.

You will lead site-based teams, ensure safety and statutory compliance, and safeguard learning environments across our education portfolio. You'll work with school leadership and stakeholders to deliver excellent service, drive improvements in

Qualifications

• SSSTS or equivalent.
• First Aid at Work.
• Fire Marshal training.
• Experience in education/facilities management/public sector.
• Experience managing multi-site operations.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy management initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate site-based facilities teams, creating a culture of safety, accountability and excellent customer service.
• Ensure statutory compliance activities, inspections and maintenance programmes are delivered effectively and on time.
• Manage day-to-day site operations, keeping school environments safe, secure, compliant and fit for learning.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance activities and contractor performance, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Build strong relationships with school leadership teams and operational stakeholders, providing clear communication and proactive problem solving.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across compliance, sustainability, energy management and operational performance.
