Job summary

Amey is seeking a Premises Manager to join our Barnsley Schools Account at Penistone Grammar School, Huddersfield Road, Penistone, Sheffield. The role is on site, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a salary of £15.60 per hour.

You will lead site-based facilities teams, ensure health and safety compliance, manage contractor performance and day-to-day operations to keep the school safe, compliant and fully operational.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising facilities, estates or building services teams.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience overseeing contractors and safe systems of work.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple demands.
• IT literacy with CAFM/compliance systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate site-based facilities teams with a safety-first culture.
• Ensure statutory compliance activities and maintenance programmes are delivered on time.
• Manage day-to-day site operations to keep environments safe and compliant.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance and contractor performance.
• Build strong relationships with school leadership and stakeholders with proactive communication.
• Drive continuous improvement across compliance, energy management, and operations.
