Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an FM Premises Officer/Site Manager - Soft Services to join our FM team based at Brays Academy in Sheldon, Birmingham. The role is site-based with a Monday to Friday pattern and occasional travel to Trust sites.

You will lead day-to-day FM services on site, manage subcontractors, oversee H&S compliance, and ensure the school runs safely and smoothly in line with SLA requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering hard and soft FM services in a live environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety compliance and safe systems of work.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day site operations and dealing with issues as they arise.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with school staff and stakeholders.
• Understanding of contract requirements and SLA/KPI awareness.
• IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAFM systems.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and people management skills.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all FM services on site, including M&E, building fabric and caretaker duties.
• Manage subcontractor activities and ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain site security and access control.
• Support H&S audits, risk assessments and related activities.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance per schedule.
• Liaise with third-party contractors (catering, cleaning) as needed.
• Monitor site services and ensure SLA adherence.
• Maintain site documentation and records.
