Job summary

Winterstoke Hundred Academy, part of the Cabot Learning Federation, is seeking a dedicated Premises Assistant Level 2 to support across Locking Parklands and Beaufighter Road. You will help maintain a safe, secure, and well‑kept environment for students, staff and visitors, working 37 hours per week.

Under the Premises Manager, you will perform repairs, waste collection, security duties, lighting, heating, cleaning, basic plant operation and porterage.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of health and safety within a school site.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance work on buildings or grounds.
• Qualification or training in building maintenance or relevant practical experience.
• Willingness to undertake training (e.g., chainsaw operation, manual handling).
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs and basic maintenance tasks on site.
• Support waste collection and porterage duties as required.
• Help to maintain security, alarm systems and key-holder responsibilities.
• Assist with lighting, heating, cleaning and operation of plant/equipment.
• Work flexibly as part of Estates and Facilities team across two sites.
