An exciting opportunity for a motivated School Nurse to join NHS National Services Scotland. The role involves providing a high-quality nursing service in the community, managing caseloads, and leading the nursing team. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated School Nurse with a postgraduate Specialist Community Public Health (School Nursing) qualification to join an evolving School Nursing Team in NHSFV.
Using a community development approach, the post holder will work in partnership with children, young people, families, multidisciplinary, and multiagency colleagues to identify and address health needs.
The post holder will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high-quality, safe, person-centred, and effective School Nursing Service in the community.
Accountability for caseload management and school nursing activity will be required, along with providing leadership to support the school nursing team as delegated by the Team Leader/Community Development Nurse.
Applicants must be a first-level registered nurse with a postgraduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of child protection systems.
Essential skills include good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A basic knowledge of common IT systems is required, and experience in a leadership role would be advantageous.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential.
