Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a reliable Minibus Driver for a full-time role in Clitheroe (BB7). You will transport vulnerable students to and from school sites, vocational centers, and community activities across Ribble Valley and East Lancashire.

Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or late-night driving. You will perform daily safety checks, maintain the vehicle, and liaise with school staff to confirm routes and timings. DBS check and D1 entitlement required.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with D1 entitlement and clean record.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or ready to obtain it.
• Right to work in the UK confirmed.
• Driver CPC and Tachograph desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and daytime activities.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment inside the minibus for vulnerable learners.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and log maintenance issues promptly.
• Keep the minibus clean and sanitized inside and out.
• Liaise with pastoral staff regarding routes, timings and attendance.

A dedicated Alternative Provision (AP) in Clitheroe (BB7) is looking for a professional, reliable Minibus Driver to join their team on a full-time, 40-hour weekly basis. You will play a vital role in ensuring vulnerable students access their education safely, transporting young people to and from school sites, local vocational centers, and community enrichment activities across the Ribble Valley and East Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and scheduled daytime activities across local routes.
• Maintain a calm, safe, and positive environment inside the vehicle, supporting vulnerable learners with patience and consistency.
• Conduct daily pre-journey vehicle safety checks (tyres, fuel, oil, lights, first-aid kits) and log any maintenance issues immediately.
• Keep the minibus clean, tidy, and sanitized inside and out.
• Liaise with pastoral school staff regarding route updates, pupil attendance, and timings.

Licence & Compliance Requirements (Essential)

• Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement (either via grandfather rights gained before Jan 1997 or via passed D1 test) with clean record/no major endorsements.
• DBS Check: Must hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the DBS Update Service (or be prepared to process an immediate check). Right to Work: Verified right to work in the UK.

Desirable

• Driver CPC card / Digital Tachograph, or previous passenger transport / school run experience.

Candidate Profile

• Punctual, dependable, and confident navigating rural and town routes across Clitheroe and surrounding postcodes.
• Calm, reassuring manner with young people who may have additional learning or emotional needs (SEMH/SEN).
• Excellent safety awareness and adherence to road regulations.
