Job summary

Swinton Fitzwilliam Primary School in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, is seeking a part-time School Meals Supervisory Assistant to support lunchtime supervision, prepare and clear dining areas, and ensure children's safety and wellbeing.

You will work with a team to promote hygiene, encourage independent eating and supervise play activities, with a genuine commitment to the welfare of our pupils and a positive school culture.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for preparing/clearing the dining room.
• Supporting children during lunchtime ensuring their safety and access to learning at lunchtimes.
• Attend to children’s personal needs, including first aid and welfare matters.
• Encourage children to wash their hands and eat independently.
• Supervise children in the dinner hall, as well as other indoor and outdoor areas including supervising their behaviour and leading playground games.
• Enjoy working with children, and use your initiative and creativity to promote imaginative games and use of playground equipment.
• Demonstrate high expectations of behaviour.
• Work closely with a team of colleagues to ensure safety and wellbeing of our children.
