Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust in Wembley is seeking School Meals Supervisor Assistants to join our vibrant special school. You will supervise children during lunchtime, support eating and play, and work with SMSA and class staff to keep children safe.

We value positive, energetic, nurturing candidates with an interest in special needs and safeguarding. An enhanced DBS check and references will be required; training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as SMSA or supportive role in a school environment preferred.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and school policies.
• Interest in special needs and ability to support pupils with varied needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during lunchtime and support eating and play opportunities.
• Work cooperatively with SMSA and class staff to ensure pupil safety.
• Maintain vigilance for health, safety and safeguarding during lunch periods.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint School Meals Supervisor Assistants to join our vibrant and welcoming special school.

We are looking for someone:

• To supervise children during the lunchtime break, this includes managing and supporting the children’s eating and play opportunities.
• To work co-operatively and in close partnership with all SMSA and class based staff colleagues.

To be vigilant and alert to all aspects of health & safety and safeguarding during this time.

We are looking for:

• Positive, energetic and nurturing SMSAs
• Applicants who have a keen interest in special needs;
• Candidates who are willing to support pupils with positively managing their behaviour
• Experience or knowledge of autism and/or a range of learning needs and disabilities is an advantage.
• Observant, conscientious and professional individuals who will prioritise the safety and well-being of all of our pupils by following all of our safeguarding processe
