Holroyd Howe is recruiting a reliable Kitchen Porter/Assistant to join the school kitchen team. You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment within an education setting and support chefs with basic food prep and stock deliveries.

The role emphasizes allergen control, following health and safety regulations, and contributing to service readiness. Training and development opportunities are provided within a supportive catering team.

Qualifications

• A keen interest in food and cooking, eager to learn and develop skills.
• Good attention to detail and understanding of hygiene practices.
• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
• Previous kitchen experience or relevant training is beneficial but not essential.
• Willingness to work in an education or high-profile catering environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist chefs with basic food prep and stock deliveries.
• Operate dishwashers and ensure proper sanitation practices.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Support the team in daily kitchen operations and setup for service.
• Accountability for following and championing allergen controls.
