Job summary

Avanti Fields School is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join the Avanti Schools Trust Central Team at Avanti Fields, supporting the catering operation with high standards of cleanliness and efficient service.

You will assist with food preparation, stock handling and waste management, ensuring safe hygiene practices for students and staff. Reliability and the ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen, food preparation, packing and storage areas.
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation, meal packing and timely provision of meals and refreshments for students, staff and hospitality events.
• Receive, handle, store and rotate deliveries and stock, ensuring accurate stock control and waste management.
• Work collaboratively with the Chef Manager and wider catering team to ensure smooth, efficient delivery of a high-quality catering service.
• Follow all food safety, health and safety and hygiene procedures, including temperature controls and risk assessments, and report hazards or defects.
