Job summary

Chartwells UK&I in the UK seeks a part-time Chef (22.5 hours/week, 43.8 weeks/year) to deliver high-quality meals and outstanding customer service. You will manage menu changes, supervise kitchen staff, handle stock, and ensure hygiene standards across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent and a Food Hygiene certificate, with a passion for food and a flexible approach to shifts. This role supports Chartwells' mission in education catering.

Qualifications

• Must be passionate about great-tasting food and excellent customer service.
• Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent or an approved alternative.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate and be adaptable to a varied shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen and act on customer feedback to improve offerings.
• Assist with new menus and creative concepts.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleanliness to maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
