Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Chef / School Cook in Clitheroe (BB7) for a short-term temporary placement. Hours are 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, in a friendly school kitchen.

Role involves preparing nutritious meals, accommodating dietary needs, and maintaining high hygiene and safety standards. DBS Enhanced check is essential, along with Level 2 Food Hygiene certification; commuting to Clitheroe is required.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial kitchen experience, ideally in schools or care settings.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to fast-track.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety certificate or equivalent.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently in a school kitchen.
• Commutable to Clitheroe (BB7).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious daily lunches for students and staff.
• Accommodate dietary needs and cultural requirements safely.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness per regulations.
• Manage daily stock rotation, temperature logs, and basic prep.
• Engage professionally within an educational setting.
