Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Chef / School Cook for a short-term placement at a busy AP setting in Clitheroe (BB7). Hours are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with no weekends or evenings.

You will prepare nutritious meals for students and staff, accommodate dietary needs, and maintain high kitchen hygiene. DBS check required; Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety, and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen; school, care settings or high-volume catering desirable.
• DBS Update Service enhanced check or willingness to fast-track.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety certificate (or equivalent).
• Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, balanced lunches for students and staff.
• Accommodate dietary needs, allergies and cultural requirements safely.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety and cleanliness per policy.
• Manage stock rotation, temperature logs and basic prep tasks.
• Engage professionally within an education setting.
