Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a Chef in Winchester to join a busy kitchen serving a school catering operation. The role offers a 35-hour week with a rotating schedule and weekly pay, plus a temp-to-perm option.

£14.20 per hour plus holiday pay, with an all-year-round position and a rotating shift pattern to provide variety. DBS check and driving are noted as requirements due to location.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar catering environment and be confident working as part of a busy team.
• Previous experience as a Chef or Chef de Partie
• Enhanced DBS issued within the last 3 months or registered on the Update Service
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
• Available Monday to Friday with 1 in 3 weekends
• Able to drive due to the location
• Flexible approach to the rotating shift pattern

Responsibilities

• Working as part of the kitchen team, you will help deliver a high standard of food and service across a busy school catering operation.
• Prepare and serve food to a high standard
• Support the kitchen team across daily service
• Work across the hot counter service for up to 400 covers
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
• Follow food safety and allergen procedures
• Work effectively across the rotating shift pattern
