Westfield Infant School in Hinckley is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team. You will help prepare and serve meals, assist with daily food prep, and maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards during term-time hours.

The role supports the Catering Manager and involves working 8:30–2:00, Monday to Friday, during term time only. Previous kitchen experience and allergen awareness are valued to provide nutritious meals for pupils and staff.

Formación

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
• Understanding and experience of food preparation and cooking.
• Understanding the importance of food allergies and allergen management.
• Enjoys working with children and has a kind, caring approach.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with the daily preparation of meals and ingredients.
• Weigh and prepare ingredients for meals, desserts and baked goods, following recipes and portion guidance.
• Serve food to pupils and staff alongside the Catering Manager.
• Help set up and clear the dining area each day.
• Wash dishes, utensils and catering equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety and allergen procedures at all times.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to pupils, staff and visitors.
