Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Facilities Assistant (Catering) to join the school catering team at St Leonards Primary School, Calderwood. You will prepare meals following recipe guidelines and uphold hygiene standards across the food preparation and service areas.

The role is 20 hours per week, term-time, with a Monday–Friday pattern from 10am to 2pm, based in East Kilbride. The salary is £13.80 per hour, with a range of local government benefits and pension schemes available.

Qualifications

• Hygiene practices relevant to storage, preparation, cooking and service of food.
• Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines.
• Basic catering duties and cleaning responsibilities in a school kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals within recipe guidelines and maintain hygiene in food production areas.
• Assist with cooking and service duties in school catering facilities.
• Ensure cleanliness of equipment, utensils and production areas in line with safety practices.
