Job summary

Stokesley School is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to join the school kitchen and dining room. You will assist the cooks to deliver a dining service that meets high standards of food safety, perform basic food preparation, set out and put away dining furniture, serve meals, wash up and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.

Hours are 18.75 per week, term time only (38.8 weeks per year, including 4 cleaning days). The role is permanent and reports to the Catering Manager.

Qualifications

• The role requires awareness of basic food safety practices.
• Ability to assist with food preparation and kitchen tasks.
• Ability to work well in a team in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cooks to deliver an efficient school catering service with high food safety standards.
• Help with basic food preparation and meal service.
• Set out and put away dining furniture, and assist with serving meals.
• Wash up and clean the kitchen and dining area.
