Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK&I, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant on a part-time basis (16 hours per week). The role includes early morning shifts across Mon–Fri and a 43.6-week year, with duties spanning food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and safe equipment use.

You will support deliveries and uphold the Chartwells brand in education settings. We seek candidates who work well under pressure, collaborate effectively within a team, and show a flexible, reliable approach to shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or catering is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure safe and proper use of all kitchen equipment and machinery.
• Assist with loading or unloading deliveries and supplies.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
