Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant on a part-time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week across a Monday to Friday day pattern. You’ll join a team that takes pride in what they do, in its food, in its brand, and most importantly in its people.

This role is contracted to 42.6 weeks per year and sits within Compass Group UK&I, serving education clients across the UK. You’ll help deliver high-quality meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
• Excellent team player with reliable attendance.
• Desire to progress within a people-focused hospitality environment.
• Willingness to comply with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Flexible to work shifts and adapt to pattern (Mon-Fri, days).

Responsibilities

• Preparing high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Maintaining kitchen and surrounding areas to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensuring correct use of all machinery and equipment.
• Assisting with loading or unloading deliveries and supplies.
• Representing Chartwells and upholding the brand image.
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations.
