Job summary

The Heath Academy Trust and Three Legged Cross First and Nursery School are seeking an Assistant Cook to join their dedicated kitchen team. You will support daily operations, assist in preparing and serving school meals, and help maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.

In this role you will assist with stock records, food orders and beverage preparation, and you will contribute to the welfare and safeguarding of children in line with safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• To assist in generating and processing all food orders, keeping all records and stock books, as required
• To assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of school meals
• To assist in the supervision of lunch time service
• To maintain all areas of the kitchen and pieces of equipment, to necessary standards of kitchen hygiene
• Wash up, as appropriate
• To prepare beverages and refreshments, as requested
• Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection policy
