Job summary

Powys County Council is seeking a General Kitchen Assistant in Llangors to assist the Cook in Charge with meal preparation, cooking and serving, adhering to nutritional standards and the Healthy Schools in Wales measures. You will help maintain cleanliness, support the Catering Service, and help set up the dining area daily.

The role requires a solid understanding of food safety, with Food Safety Certificate Level 2 essential.

Qualifications

• Must understand food safety and its application in a kitchen.
• Food Safety Certificate Level 2 is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in Charge with normal kitchen duties for preparation, cooking and serving of food and drinks to Powys Catering Services standards.
• Support and promote the Catering Service and its objectives daily.
• Set up and clear dining area tables and chairs in readiness for meal service.
• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy during meal preparation and wash cutlery and utensils.
