Job summary

Burford School is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support a busy school kitchen. The role offers 30 hours per week during term time (38 weeks per year plus INSET days) with a start date around December 2026 or by negotiation.

Experience in a fast-paced catering environment is desirable. Duties include assisting in the delivery of catering services to students, staff and visitors, handling and production of food, lifting and cleaning equipment, and serving meals.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced catering environment desirable.
• Ability to lift/move heavy and light equipment on a daily basis.
• Excellent communication skills to serve the school community efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of all Catering Services to students, staff and visitors.
• Prepare and serve a variety of meals and snacks using fresh ingredients.
• Handle, move and clean equipment and maintain a safe kitchen workspace.
