Job summary

Escrick Primary School is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our busy school kitchen in the Yorkshire Learning Trust. You will work as part of a team to prepare, cook and serve meals in line with quality procedures under supervision.

Experience in a busy kitchen is preferred but not essential, with training provided and opportunities for development. This role involves serving meals, table setup, cleaning duties, and maintaining hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for collecting and serving school meals.
• Putting out dining tables and chairs before service and cleaning them after service.
• Tidying up the kitchen and dining room, and carrying out cleaning and washing up duties.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• Removing waste and rubbish to designated areas.
• Help ensure effective engagement with customers to support catering across meals.
• Maintain high standards in presentation of food and layout.
• Use Cypad functions for menus, recipes, pre orders and allergens.
