Job summary

Tenax Schools Trust is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant on a fixed contract starting as soon as possible. The role is 30 hours per week, 8am–2.30pm, Monday to Friday, term-time plus one week INSET days (total 39 weeks). Salary pro rata £17,171 (£24,513 FTE).

Responsibilities include hygienic meal preparation, kitchen cleaning, stock checks, and training attendance. Closing date 17 September 2026, interviews week of 21 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hygienic preparation, delivery, and/or serving of meals and ensure kitchen and equipment are cleaned to a high standard
• Daily cleaning of kitchen
• Monitor fridge stock rotation
• Prepare meals on time
• Assist with receipt and storage of groceries
• Comply with health and safety, fire regulations and other policies
• Attend relevant training courses
