Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Catering Services seeks a General Kitchen Assistant to join its schools catering team. You will help prepare, present and serve school meals and ensure a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff.

You may be required to lay tables, assist with seating, and operate a touch screen terminal in some schools. Training provided; DBS check required; role runs during term time, Monday to Friday, 10:00–14:30.

Qualifications

• Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Lay out dining tables and chairs for service.
• Operate touch screen terminal in some schools (training provided).
