Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting a Deputy Catering Assistant for a school in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The role combines hands-on kitchen duties with administrative tasks to support daily catering operations.

Starting ASAP on a long-term temporary basis, with hours from Monday to Thursday 7:00am–3:00pm and Friday 7:00am–1:00pm, you will help place orders, maintain records, and ensure food hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is essential.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Flexibility to support occasional after-school events.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the school kitchen
• Assisting with food preparation and general kitchen duties
• Placing food and catering orders
• Completing catering paperwork and maintaining relevant records
• Stock control and monitoring supplies
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety
• Supporting the wider catering team
• Providing catering support for school events, including after-school events
