Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a local authority contract role in the Chepstow & Caldicot School Area. The post holder will provide high-quality cleaning and hygiene services across school and council premises, helping maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, floor care, sanitary facilities, waste management and operating cleaning equipment, while following COSHH, health and safety regulations and council procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or hygiene experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work to required cleaning standards and deadlines.
• Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations is preferred.
• Experience working within schools or public buildings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across designated school premises.
• Wash floors and walls to required hygiene standards.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust and polish classrooms, offices and communal areas.
• Empty litter bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms and other sanitary facilities.
