Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join our dedicated pastoral and safeguarding team at Watford. You will promote pupil health and wellbeing, provide professional medical support, and ensure students receive appropriate care during the school day.

You will work with pupils, parents, teachers and external healthcare professionals to provide a confidential point of contact for medical needs, administer medication, and help develop healthcare plans for pupils with ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, paediatric, or community setting.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and confidentiality.
• Experience managing medical conditions and administering medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and medical care to pupils and staff.
• Assess illnesses and injuries and escalate as needed.
• Maintain confidential medical records up to date.
• Develop and oversee individual healthcare plans for pupils with ongoing conditions.
• Support pupils with asthma, diabetes, allergies and other long-term needs.
• Administer medications with proper consent and documentation.
• Monitor pupils returning after illness or hospital treatment.
• Liaise with parents, GPs, and school staff and external professionals.
• Contribute to safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
• Promote health and wellbeing across the school community.
• Provide health education on hygiene, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles.
• Assist with health-related policies and risk assessments.
